Another Saturday!

I started the weekend with an awesome teochew brekkie with my mum. I always enjoy eating and talking with her at the market. We ended up checking out some really nice pseudo real flowers sold at some florist. Couldn't resist buying some purple lavender and white-green flowers. Now I just need to figure how to style and where to put them. Need inspirations!

Joined Sophie and Mark for their wedding fitting today but I was late! =( I actually missed Sophie in both her gowns. Thankfully I saw some pictures!

I did some wedding shopping with the couple and found more awesome stuff. Typo at taka sells these small wooden letters and box that potentially could be used for our wedding advice box idea. Whee... Kinda exciting!

Morning inspirations

I love the warm, morning sunlight. It has an amazing, magical effect on photos. I was playing around with my camera and here's what I captured!

Honeymoon booked!

We are going to Clubmed Maldives. Ahhhhhhhh!

Shopping for bridesmaid dresses!

Today, the girls and I went shopping for their bridesmaid dresses! Wei Wei came along and she recommended for us to check out Occasions at raffles city. Brilliant choice cause we ended buying from there =D

Occasions has many dresses in quite a range of colours. But their shop isn't overwhelming since their dresses were neatly arranged in colour tones and they were easy to pick and compare (unless some shops where dresses are all cramped together in a tiny space).

Originally, I was drawn to the dusky/off pink colour range. So the girls tried on quite a few pink dresses which they thought were pretty alright. Whilst they were supportive of my preference for pink, I could tell they weren't exactly for the colour. Then Wei Wei and Sophie made a good point: Since my gown is slightly pink, the contrast between the girls and I will be quite weak if they wore pink too.

Then Wei Wei led me the olive green range and showed me how it'll fit with the theme. I was sold. It was perfect! The girls seemed glad to try the colour so it worked out really well. The final bridesmaid dress? A really sweet chiffon tube dress with flowers. So happy with the dress!

Here are the pictures from today's fruitful shopping!

DIY Handmade paper flowers <3

I just spent the past 2 hours watching YouTube videos on how to make paper flowers. Not only are they uniquely beautiful, they seem amazingly easy to make! I can't believe I haven't learnt how to make them before.

Now I'm really psyched to buy some paper punches, scrap paper and craft scissors to start making these flowers. I wanna make some for my DIY flower girl basket idea!

Here's my first attempt at making one with a yellow post it! Not exactly the best looking but I still love it.

Brunches make me happy

Gerald and I chanced upon an all day breakfast cafe on Hungrygowhere. We were on a hunt for a good brunch near my place. Since Arbite's situated in serangoon gardens, we decided to give it a try! We were definitely not disappointed =)

The place is hidden on the second storey of one of gardens' shophouses. We were surprised to see it soo packed... Didn't think it was already so popular. Thank goodness we were given a table!

The ambience was great and food was soo yummy. I thought their eggs Benedict was better than epicurious's or wild honey's. Nice place to chill with friends... Will definitely wanna go back to try their mains, desserts or drinks!

Garden of trees

Today, I was walking down orchard road when a thought hit me: Our government has put in much effort to make Singapore a beautiful garden city. We have gorgeous trees everywhere. In the city, amongst shopping malls and the midst of neighborhoods. I truly appreciate living in spaces filled with touches of nature.

Imagine living in a city without any greenery. Soooo dreary and lifeless. The air will be more polluted and there will be less shade from the scorching sun. There will be no palettes of green to soothe your eyes and calm your nerves.

I'm happy that I live in a garden city. I'm thankful for having my favourite trees around!

Chomp chomp day!

It's been a while since my mum, sis and I have been to chomp chomp for yummy food. But really, whilst the food was good, the company was better!

My first overseas work trip

I just got back from a productivity learning camp in Taipei! My first overseas work trip was quite an experience:

I got to know several towkays and senior management personnel on the trip. There were 34 participants and at least 3/4 of them were CEO/MD/director level! Though stressful, I had the opportunity to learn alongside these insightful individuals.

- I learnt quite a few management concepts, tools and methodologies from the classes. All in MANDARIN! So proud of myself haha. Some of the things I learnt include Organization culture, design thinking, customer value creation and lean management. I just wished they went more in depth to cover the know hows on how to implement these concepts.

- Taiwan was actually hit by typhoon during my trip. Thank goodness Taipei was not as affected as the other parts like Hulian and Yilan. But the adverse change in weather still affected us. We saw strong winds and heavy rain almost everyday. This meant we couldn't go out of our hotel during our R&R moments. I ended up eating cup noodles In my hotel room one of the nights! I'm not complaining though... At least our entire delegate stayed safe and sound.

- I'm really quite impressed with the hospitality shown by our training camp organizer, CPC. They took care of us really well and always made the effort to make us feel at ease with their sense of humor and funny cheers. And their welcome and 'graduating' dinners were so interesting! Nothing like Singapore.
