Birthday dad =D

We celebrated dad's birthday yesterday at Jumbo's Teochew restaurant. Food was awesome but insanely expensive! Alaskan crabs can be sooo pricey -_- Anyhow, we enjoyed the lunch immensely. Happy 60th Birthday daddy!

How can we ever miss the memorable photos?

And the ij babes and I had the most impromptu midautumn festival gathering last night! There were mooncakes, tea, moscato and chips. What's not to love? And the best bit was the sparklers! We all became young again, playing with the sparklers and photo whoring. True joy.

Today's the actual day for Midautumn festival. Hope everyone's going to have a wonderful time tonight... With family and your loved ones!

The wedding hunt continues.

I figured many brides will do just about anything for their wedding. Or maybe it's just me hehe. It was really hot yesterday. In the sweltering heat, I scoured Arab street to look for my wicker basket for wedding DIY purposes! Thankfully, I found two shops selling such baskets (yay). I ended buying one though it was kinda too big. Going back when it's closer to Xmas time! Apparently, one shop starts selling smaller baskets when the festive season is nearing =D

And I had two more finds during my hunt at Arab street. There was one shop selling loads of ribbons, tissue paper and... Small paper flowers! I bought some together with some green metal wire as materials for the bridesmaid flower crowns. Hope they work!

The last shop I chanced upon was a flower + other decor distributor! I really love some of the green plant decor that they have. And there was this bird cage that caught my eye! Ahhh! I so wanna get it! Be it for the wedding or for our house next time. Doesn't it have an ancient, magical charm?

Gerald and I met CF today! He showed us the type of albums we could use for our pre-wedding photos, our edited photos and their proposed layout. In the end, we opted for 2 separate albums since we had so many photos and we didn't want one super thick album (it's crazy heavy). We chose woodsy covers for our albums since they were so fitting with our theme and guest book. It was perfect.

Let me say one thing about our photos: I adoooooore them sooooo!

The great thing about CF's photos is that they really capture G and I as a couple. They're not the type that look amazing because we're posing in them, looking all beautiful and stylish. I love them because they capture perfectly candid moments of us playing and doing crazy things together. They include elements of our love story, past and present. Looking at the pictures also reminds me of the immense fun we had during our photoshoot. I totally miss the experience!

I'm really looking forward to getting the actual albums =)

Anyways, G and I chose the paper for our wedding invites and our menu as well! What an efficient day for wedding matters hehe.

Oh yesterday.

I collected my new iPhone 5 yesterday! Woohoo! But seriously, I don't find it very much different from my iPhone 4. I guess it's just mainly faster and has a wider screen. Thankfully, G and I didn't have to queue very long to get our phones at MBS.

I'm happy to share what I found and bought yesterday. I immediately fell in love with it when it caught my eye! It's an airplant attached to a piece of drift wood. Such an eco and woodsy decor item hehe. I like! I just hope I can keep it alive!

G and I were determined to do some wedding planning and tasks after collecting our phones. And we did! Yay! He managed to settle his table arrangements for his friends and we chose quite a few songs for our reception. We had the great idea of getting his saxophone boys to play songs that we loved, which had sad or unsuitable lyrics that would be filtered out anyways. =D Some of the saxophone covers we heard on YouTube are simply amazing. Love them soooo. I hope the boys will be able to do them well!

(Here and there)

Mid autumn festival is coming. I just wish it was really autumn right here. Cooler weather, trees bursting into a myriad of earthy colours, great fall fashion. What's not to like about autumn? Oh well... I guess whilst we can't experience real fall, we have mooncakes instead =D Something to thank for.

Separately, here are my works for the week. Favourite spots, great food and happy smiles! And though the pug photo was just my random find on google, I had to add it in cause it's hit too adorable! I can't decide whether my next dog will be a pug or corgi✨

Emo days.

I don't know why I've been feeling so emo and moody lately. Conflicting feelings maybe? Or wedding woes as -the- day draws nearer? I want to be all cheery and happy again! Guess it's time to adjust my perspectives and emotions.

And more exercise for the endorphins!

Tuesday blues?

I need to recharge myself! Been feeling lazy and lifeless. Not the least bit motivated. Stuck in a rut? I hope I get out of it soon!

Mr pooty and I need to start compiling a list of our wedding songs! Songs that reflect us individually and as a couple. We don't really listen to songs together so this may prove to be a difficult task! Of course we have -our- songs but I think there's like less than five hehe. Maybe there's a fun way to do this? Time to find out!

Anyway here's a picture of something I enjoyed at work. Mini green tea moon cake from the hawker! Simple things are the best.

Ramblings of the week!

It's been a rather slow week. Haven't been feeling very inspired. I think it's due to my 'thing', taking all my energy away. I pray for a better coming week!

I took a day off on Thursday to rest. I could feel work taking a toll on my mind and I figured it'd be good to do some things that I love. So I ended up eating and shopping in Ikea, chilling on my own at NEX and watching a movie with pooty. Home or lifestyle decor gets me very excited. That's why I love Ikea and King Wong's at NEX. They have so many awesome decorating ideas. My favourite section? Plants and flowers! They can make any place so wonderfully beautiful.

Gerald and I went shopping with his parents yesterday. We were on a hunt for auntie Shirley's dress. It wasn't an easy task! We went to quite a few places before she found the perfect one at Robinsons. It's this blue floral dress which looks super chic for a garden wedding. Think it'll fit with our theme pretty well!

Today, we celebrated mama's birthday at Imperial Treasures. We had our usual yummy dim sum lunch before we all head home. Wish I took more photos!

Here are the great snapshots for the week!

Highlights of the week!

It's been a crazy work week. So many things to do! I'm just glad for the weekend to recharge. Did quite a bit of nua-ing around... Just trying not to feel like I wasted my time hehe.

Thursday was a special day for Gerald and me. 6th September 2012 - The day that marks our 5 years together. I'm so so happy that we have held hands and grown as a couple over the past 5 years. We have become the best of friends. There was laughter, tears, crazy moments, wonderful travels and lessons learnt together. I feel like such a lucky girl to have him! I love you pooty! I really really do.

We celebrated our Anni at Oscars at Conrad. They were really sweet to prepare some complimentary champagne and some awesome cake. Mm! And guess what! My baby bought me some flowers! =D

Here are the beautiful pics:

On Friday, we went for our wedding band fitting at Vivo Diamond. The bands were perfect for us. However, Gerald and I came to the conclusion that we weren't exactly super excited about our bands cause we feel they aren't the most important part of our wedding.

We met Wei Wei and her team on Saturday to check out our ballroom and solemnization room. Getting awfully excited about our wedding decor and programmes! We're gonna have a semi arch for our solemnization ceremony! =D And it's gonna be all woodsy and branchy. Ahhh so magical. We're gonna have bottles lined along the aisle as well!

Programme wise, we're planning for some fun choreographed walk in! And Gerald's friends are performing for us. Sooo awesome!

It's gonna be a beautiful, fun filled wedding.
