(Makeup Haul) Urban decay 24/7 Glide on Eye pencil

I have this new habit. Every month, to treat myself, I will buy one to two make up items to try. I already have a long list of products that I wanna try thanks to so many good reviews on certain items.

I will only purchase make up products that have received the thumbs up from other make up gurus and lovers. Now that I'm a mummy and household caretaker, I know it's important to spend every $ on quality!

So this month, I bought Urban decay's 24/7 glide on pencil in Demolition to try! It's a dark brown colour and I chose it over black because the latter may be too harsh. This pencil has been around for ages I believe and I've heard and watched many many good things about it.

(S$32 at Sephora Singapore)

I have super oily eyelids and also tend to perspire quite a bit when I'm out. That's why I need an eyeliner that is super water proof and does not smudge! I've tried Bobbi brown's gel eyeliner before and though it's loved by many, it smudges on my lids! It's terrible.

So far, K palette's liquid eyeliner works for me. It doesn't budge and has a precise effect. It's just more difficult to apply because it's a liquid liner and you need a stead hand for that perfect application.

I've always wanted to try a pencil eyeliner that's able to give a softer look compared to a liquid one. And it seems easier to apply too!

I'm excited to share this UD's eye pencil! Hopefully, it will live up to its expectations!

(Me time) Still obsessed with food hacks!

So when my helper asked me what I wanted for breakfast today, in my mind I saw one of the food hacks: Bread with egg + cheese INSIDE. Mmmmm.

I decided to try it! Life is just more fun when you constantly try out new things no?

Here's the original food hacks instructions:

And here's what I made! Without the ham though!

It's soooo super simple and tasted amazingly good. Every bite had melted cheese oozing out. I had fun making it and showed my helper how to do it. She seemed to enjoy learning new tricks too!

Baby Leia's milestones: Getting prettier!

My sweety pie has become prettier over the last few days! Lol.

She used to have one double eyelid and one single eyelid. For some reason, her single eyelid doubled magically and her eyes now look bigger than before. Yaaaay. Hehe. Hopefully it doesn't go away.

Now Leia looks more feminine and sweeter than before. It's amazing how such a change makes such a difference!

(Me time) Recent addiction: Rurouni Kenshin!

Oh my. I haven't blogged for soooo long!

I blame this on my recent addiction to anime Rurouni Kenshin. I started watching the entire anime on YouTube and I was really hooked. Actually what made me start was the movie! Part 2 of the second movie was coming out and I wanted to know what was gonna happen. Not really a good move because after watching the anime, the movie really can't compare.

I absolutely loooove the anime. And I love  Kenshin the character! He's such a righteous, just and strong individual. At the same time, very attractive because he has that 'I was very bad before but now I've turned I over a new leaf' thing going on lol. And he can be so silly and funny sometimes, thanks to the humorous bits of the anime. His voice is soooo attractive too! *loves*

There are a few scenes that I absolutely adore:

1. The fight between Kenshin and Saito. It's super exciting! I loved watching how they fought as they it was still during the revolution and how Kenshin morphed into his Battousai mode. It was -really- cool. No matter how much Saito hit him, he just walked really coolly (with that somewhat dark aura) towards him. It was a sneak peek of what Kenshin could have been before: A cold, merciless killer. Such a sharp contrast to his warm character post revolution.

2. The most well known scene of Kenshon bidding farewell to Kaoru before he left for Kyoto to look for Shishio Makoto. It's the most touching scene ever! Him suddenly embracing her and thanking her simply. And saying sayonara. It was a short scene but a really powerful one. Yes I actually cried at this bit. I could actually feel the unspoken love they had for each other. It broke my heart when Kenshin said he had to be a wanderer again. Man, I'm such a sucker for such stuff.

3. When Kenshin was learning the final Hiten Mitsurugi move from his Master and realized his strong desire to live in that one instant. His will to live for the sake of others like Kaoru.

4. Fight scenes with Aoshi Shinomori and Sojiro. Both exciting and touching at the same time. I really like how the anime explains how the 'bad people' actually became how they were and that there was always a reason. Mostly due to betrayal or the path of revenge. Or that they had such hard lives that they never saw the light. This really makes sense to me. No one is born a bad person. And who you meet really shapes you as a person. Just like how Sojiro became who he was because he met Shishio and things might have been different if he met someone like Kenshin. And Kenshin was how he is probably because of his master.

5. Love between Shishio and Yumi. While Shishio is really badass, I like how the anime showed the love between Shishio and Yumi. A bit twisted but still it felt kind of real. And Yumi's final sacrifice for Shishio was actually touching to me! Lol.

Well, these are just a few favorite scenes or bits off the top of my head. Might be more!

I just really love the anime hee. More than Natuto and Bleach for some reason!

Baby Leia's milestones: Clap baby clap!

Today, I was playing with Leia on her playmat as usual. She was in her sitting position when suddenly and very randomly, she brought her lil precious hands together to clap! Seriously, my heart skipped a beat when it happened!

It's her very first time! Omg. And she was sooooooooo freaking cute! I couldn't stop smothering her with kisses after that lol. Not sure why but it's kinda big milestone to me hehe. I guess it kinda means that she knows how to express her happiness or excitement in other ways now.

And ohh she keeps saying dadada recently! I was a lil bummed that it wasn't 'mamama' but research says it's easier for babies to pronounce d words so I guess that's fine hehe. Anyways, it's amazing how she's speaking so much now!

I've also recently figured how to make her more interested in her 'Going to bed' book. I have to be super animated when I read to her! She finds it so funny when I read using all sorts of intonations and actions and keeps chuckling (yes she doesn't really giggle like a girly girl).

Love her to bits!

(Me time) Orange vs pink lippies!

I loooove lipsticks. I love collecting them. I love wearing them but I always forget to hehe.

And I particularly love coral and orange lippies! I'm just drawn to these 2 colours. They're just so happy and bold.

Well the thing is, during my make up class, I found out that warm colours don't really suit me. That includes orange and coral! *heart breaks*

I decided to do another test today to confirm this. You can tell I'm kinda in denial because I have so many warm or orange base products. Was secretly hoping that my instructor was wrong lol.

According to my make up instructor, a good way of testing is to separately try on a pink and orange based lipstick and see which suits you better. Sooooo I tried on these three colours:

Bourjois colour boost - Fuchsia Libre

Laneige hydrating lipstick - YR27

Nyx Matt lipstick - Audrey

I took photos to get a better sense of how I like. Looking at the mirror alone can be deceiving!

Anyways, the 1st and 3rd lipsticks are pink based lippes which I haven't been using because I always thought they were too pink for me. I thought coral and orange were better for me! That's kinda why I have like 4-5 orangey lip products -.-

But as you can see, I obviously look better wearing pink! The orange lipstick somehow makes me look duller even though it's such a bright pop of colour. I look more radiant wearing pink. The 3rd colour looks nice even though it seems too pink when I look at the lipstick or at the mirror. See, it's always better to take a photo to see how a product really looks on you.

I'm gonna start using these pink lippies again! Going to also test out my other lipsticks using this method so that I know what's suitable for me. I do have many many lipsticks heee.

(Me time) Learning new things!

About 2 weeks ago, I was feeling rather depressed. Suddenly I felt like I didn't have any passion or hobby that I was pursuing avidly and consistently. I wasn't learning anything new during my own personal time. I would just basically follow makeup and lifestyle vloggers on YouTube. If not, I'd be watching anime or movies online. It dawned on me that whilst I was watching vloggers live their life, I wasn't really living mine. Or at least documenting life like they do!

So I decided that I'd be more proactive.

Last Sunday, I went for a basic make up class with Sophie to learn the proper way to apply make up. Sure, I watch a lot of make up tutorials but none are as effective as having someone there to demonstrate and correct your techniques. It was a good class! I learnt soooo many things, for eg. that cool colours may actually suit me more than warm. Yes, apparently orange doesn't really complement me -.- More blues and purples are better.

I tried so many good products that I wanna buy! Of course, I learnt the better techniques of make up application too. How to apply foundation properly... Concealer, highlighter, loose powder, eye shadow, eyebrows, blush and lipstick.

Well apart from make up, I've been trying to learn basic video editing so that I can edit our vlogs or snippets of our lives =D just simple trimming of videos and combing for a start!

Hope I keep going!
