Food Tasting
We had our food tasting at Imperial Treasures CP yesterday! It was a dinner with our parent + siblings and I must say it went pretty well!
Overall, food was good with more hits than misses. We only had a few comments, mostly about reducing the saltiness/spiciness/sauce for certain dishes. I wouldn't say that the food was insanely fantastic but good enough for us I suppose! My most memorable dish was the crispy roast duck. Everyone thought it was sooooo yummmmmy. Thinking about it makes me salivate hehe. The prawns and fish were pretty popular at the table too. The food portions were all pretty huge!
The great thing about our food tasting was that it didn't feel awkward for both families. I'm glad G and I previously arranged for our parents to meet a couple of months back. The previous meeting made them feel more familiar and comfortable talking to one another this time round. And it really helps having G and his dad around! They're always ready to inject a bit of humour to the table conversation. We had our share of laughter amidst the food tasting and critiquing. =D
Here are some photos of our dish choices!
Wedding video inspiration
I've been mulling over what kind of video to show at our wedding. We're not for the typical growing up montage that couples usually show before the grand march in. I'm thinking of a video that shows our love story and how we are as a couple. Something that is uniquely us. At the same time, it'll be great if we could include the participation of our friends in the video.
So it was timely when I recalled this video that I watched a while back. It was a wedding video prepared for Sonia from Jayesslee and her hubby. Here's the link:

Anyways, the video is based on a Q&A concept, where Sonia's and Andy's friends ask the couple a series of questions that reveal their journey together as a couple. It was such a funny and sweet video. It totally inspired me to do something similar for ours! I just hope we can find the time and help to prepare it without feeling too stressed about the whole thing.
Wedding favours!
I am soooo excited about our wedding favours! We're gonna have lil honey jars and potted plants as gifts for our guests. How cuteeee is that?! And so very fitting for our theme. I adored the idea when Wei Wei shared it with us. I guess it's only natural since I previously mentioned that honey is such an awesome gift since it's like sharing a lil sweetness with your guests. And I earlier showed her pictures of these pretty potted plants wrapped with brown paper. I just loved them! Tada! Here's the picture I shared:
Wei Wei managed to source for similar potted plants for us, yay! Hope we manage to get a good deal for them =D
Here are her finds:

I just read about how potted plants, representing new life, are a wonderful way to signify the new life that two partners will be starting together after their wedding. So meaningful. Makes me love our green wedding favours more! <3
