Super delayed update!

I haven't posted for about three weeks! It's a long time.

Well, I have a good reason for this. Around two weeks ago, on 12th June, something traumatizing happened to me. I was about 10 weeks preggie when I suddenly experienced bleeding at work.

It wasn't just a bit of spotting, which is supposed to be normal during pregnancy. There was quite a bit of pink blood. You can imagine my fear and panic when I saw what happened in the toilet. Of course the 1st thing that came to my mind was 'Omg, am I having a miscarriage?!'. I felt so terrified and emotional. Immediately I called Gerald and we separately rushed down to parkway east hospital to see Dr Heng. On my way there, I couldn't help but cry amidst my fear. I called my sister who managed to calm me down a bit.

We had to go to the doctor's other clinic and I got to see her pretty quickly. Both Dr Heng and her assistant were quite shocked at the amount of bleeding and gave me an ultrasound to check on the baby. And thank god, we could see baby kicking and moving about and we heard its heartbeat! *yay* I felt more relieved but still worried at what happened. Doctor couldn't exactly explain what causes the bleeding but it could have resulted from my fast walking the day before. She gave me a jab, preggie hormone pills and 7 days of mc. I was put on strict bedrest at home (I didnt want to be hospitalized) and instructed not to move around to stop the bleeding.

So I was bed and home bound until 23rd of June! Long time really. We had to celebrate my birthday and Gerald's birthday at home. I couldn't go for Mike and Karyan's wedding and we had to forgo our Koh Samui trip too! =( But I suppose all this is a small price to pay to ensure the safety of baby!

My family, friends and colleagues were very supportive and caring during this challenging period of time. My family kept visiting to accompany me on my birthday and other days. They helped me buy Gerald an Awfully Chocolate birthday cake and played MJ with him and my mother in law.

My friends Amelia, Joy and Joyce visited as well! And I received gorgeous flowers from the s3xy girls and my colleagues. Those flowers really brightened my day!

And my mother in law was sooo caring, attentive and sweet to me. She made sure I had my meals on time, always sending my food to the room. She bought me the food I loved eg. Black carrot cake and chwee kueh.

It would also have been so much harder without my hubba. He took care of me so well, always staying home with me, bringing water, helping me shower and cheering me up. We're so lucky that it was his school holidays and he was able to be there. *hearts* him so much.

We saw Dr Heng again and she assured us baby was doing fine! It kept kicking so much it was hard for her to measure its heartbeat hehe. It was funny how we got another ultra sound in the afternoon for the Down syndrome test and baby refused to get into the right position! The sonographer had to keep jiggling my belly to move baby into position. Looks like baby is only active in the morning!

Anyways, baby was around 5cm on 22nd June! Growing so fast. I actually took a subsequent belly shot to capture my slight baby bump. Looks visible now! Wonder how fast it's gonna grow hee.

So that's all for my update for now! Hope to provide more on a regular basis!

P.S. I've still been feeling rather lazy and unmotivated, even more so after the two weeks of bedrest. Hope this changes soon!
