I just love letting Leia try new solid foods! Getting kinda obsessed actually lol. I've been reading up on wholesome baby food and recently subscribed to a Facebook group called 'Healthy food for baby'. There are just so many food options that I wanna try!
- Carrots, with sweet potato and pumpkin
- Snow peas, with sweet potato and pumpkin
- White potato, with sweet potato and pumpkin
- Banana with cereal
- Broccoli, with sweet potato or cereal
- Pureed chicken with cereal
She looooves puréed chicken! We gave it to her yesterday and she ate it so quickly!
Anyways, after my research, I figured that I'll stop feeding her white potato since it's really not that nutritious and too starchy as well. Sweet potatoes, pumpkin and peas seem to be the most nutritious options!
We started giving her puréed broccoli to add more green to her diet! But I'm a lil apprehensive because websites highlight that broccoli (cauliflower too) can cause babies to be gassy. So I'm monitoring how Leia reacts to it!
And oh! Leia hates puréed apples! We tried that too -.- I even bought different type of apples (gala vs rose) to test. Well she just doesn't like the taste!
Anyways, here's a quick peek on what we serve her for meals:
(Breakfast)
Brown rice or barley Cereal with puréed banana
(Lunch)
- Puréed sweet potato + pumpkin + carrot or
- Pureed white potato with chicken
(Dinner)
- Brown rice or barley Cereal with puréed chicken and broccoli
After more research, here's a list of new options or recipes that I want to try:
- Baby peas
- Long green beans
- Porridge with sweet potato, snow peas, pork or fish (blended)
- Rice with millet and quinoa (blended)
